Fast rising Nigerian actress, Ogechukwu Anasor has stated that she recently had a cosmetic surgery and she’s liking the effect.
Talking to Nolly,Now the actress says: “I got my body done and I’m loving it.
For her it was a personal choice, she said. “My body, my money, my choice. It was a personal decision I took for me and I’m delighted with it,” she said.
“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but at the end of the day, it’s my life and it’s my decision. Do what works for you, and let me do what works for me. And let’s be honest, I’m not the problem of Nigeria,” she added.
The Enugu State born actress who has been in the profession for 10 years said resilience and self-belief have been important to navigating Nollywood. She said she never let filmmakers who sought to “box her in” keep her from growing.
“Acting has really helped me to find different sides of myself, to build confidence and to embrace my individuality. “It’s been a journey of professional and personal growth,” she remarked.
Looking back on her journey, the actress said she’s amazed at the distance she has covered, however life has taught her tenacity, patience and to believe in herself when no one else does. “Every obstacle has made me stronger and wiser,” she said.
“I just focus on my goals and don’t let the public opinion dictate my decisions,” she added about social media scrutiny. Social media can be loud, but I’ve learned not to let public opinion make my choices. “I listen to constructive feedback, but I stay focused on my goals, my growth and the kind of career I want to build,” she added. She also added that she does not allow herself to be deterred by trolling or nasty comments.
“Not all will understand you, and that’s okay. I concentrate on the people who really support me and the work I’m doing. “I’m really, really big on protecting my mental space.”
Anasor agreed that there is pressure as a celebrity to appear great all the time. “I’ve learned that it’s more important to be authentic than to be perfect. “I love to look good, but I also allow myself space to just be human.”
Actress says she’s also sticking to her pledge this year to focus on her health, meaningful connections and personal growth. “It’s still a work in progress but I’m more conscious about protecting my peace, taking care of my health and investing my time in people and opportunities that are aligned with my values. “I’ve learned that living intentionally is not about being perfect, it is about consistently making better choices.”
