Veteran journalist and former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, FCT Council, Amos Dunia, has been chosen as Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
The appointment was announced in a statement made on Friday by the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organization and signed by the Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Ihediwa and takes effect from immediately.
Dunia adds a wealth of broadcast and print media experience to the campaign. He has worked with Nigerian Television Authority, New Nigerian Newspapers, The Sun Newspapers and Blueprint Newspaper. He is also a co-founder of Forefront Magazine and its online platform.
The new Special Adviser was a former Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council and then National Consultant to the union on politics and union problems. He has also worked as a public pundit, communications expert and publisher.

The campaign organization said Dunia would join other professionals to propagate the “Reset Nigeria” agenda of the Makinde/Daura campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election .
The campaign stated his experience, professional network and communication skills will contribute to the campaign’s public affairs and communication operations as it strives to mobilise support for the APM.
The organization also urged party officials, members and supporters and Nigerians not to lose focus of its declared purpose to use the 2027 presidential election to promote stability, national cohesion and economic success.
