The Minister of Defence, Gen Christopher Musa (retd) has ordered security forces to confront armed bandits and terrorists without hesitating, saying any operator who fails to eliminate criminals under the guise of waiting for orders would be viewed as collaborating with them.
Musa today charged the security operatives in Sokoto State as he commissioned 62 operational cars and security equipment worth ₦27.127 billion bought by the Sokoto State Government to bolster security operations across the state, according to The PUNCH.
“When you are deployed, don’t wait for any order from anybody to shoot any bandit or any terrorist,” the minister said.
“Any person who refuses to shoot or kill any bandit or terrorist in the name of waiting for an order will be treated as a bandit. Firearms and Weapons
The minister said the intervention was a showcase of strategic leadership and he also lauded Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his consistent support to security services with logistics and operational equipment.

The governor added that his government has forwarded a measure to the State House of Assembly proposing tougher punishment for informants supporting criminals. Government.

Governor Aliyu urged locals to continue providing genuine intelligence to security services, adding that fighting banditry demands joint effort.
“Security is a collective responsibility and we shall overcome every security challenge facing our state,” he stated.
