Peter Obi, who was the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, indicated he would serve only one term if he wins the 2027 presidential election.
The ex-governor of Anambra state said this today on News Central TV.
“I want to be a one-term president for the sake of stability. “I wouldn’t stay a day longer than four years, even if I had a gun to my head,” he stated.
Obi, who placed third in the 2023 vote, also criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, borrowing and the high cost of living in the country.
Obi, you may recall, just left the African Democratic Party (ADC) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Obi promised one tenure as President while in ADC.
