The Corps said Olalere, a herbalist from Gbongan, was detained for allegedly colluding with armed robbers and giving them with traditional charms to enhance their illegal activities. According to reports, he was caught with one Yinusa, also of Gbongan, who was apprehended over an alleged shop burglary in the town.

In another incident, Azeez, who hails from Modakeke, was detained for allegedly stealing a gas cylinder and other goods in the neighbourhood.
He had already been convicted of a similar offence and had served a jail sentence, the Corps added. During interrogation, Azeez admitted to the current crime, police said.

The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, confirmed to journalists in Osogbo that the offenders were arrested at separate locations following reports made to the command.
Operatives, Omoyele said, went into action instantly the reports were received and arrested the suspects at their purported hideouts and at the places of the recorded offences.
Initial investigations had led to admissions by the suspects and some had reportedly named additional persons suspected to have been involved in the incidents, he said.
The Corps Commander asked the people of the state to collaborate with security forces by supplying credible and timely intelligence that might help prevent criminal activity and nip possible security concerns in the bud.
He stressed the need of the collaboration of the public in the strengthening of security and peace in Osun State. The five suspects were handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and prosecution, Mr Abass said.
