Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, declared yesterday that Israel and the US were “winning” the fight against Iran. He said that the Islamic Republic was “decimated” and could not make ballistic missiles or enrich uranium.
Netanyahu said at a press conference in English that Israel had “acted alone” in attacking Iran’s huge South Pars gas field. He also said that US President Donald Trump had told Israeli forces to “hold off” on such strikes in the future.
The Israeli prime minister also denied that he had pulled Trump into the fight, saying that he was the junior partner in the attack on Iran, according to AFP.
“Does anyone really think that someone can tell President Trump what to do?” Netanyahu said to reporters.
“He didn’t need any convincing,” he said.
“I don’t think any two leaders have worked together as well as President Trump and I have.” He is in charge. “I am, you know, his ally.”
The long-time Israeli politician wanted to give a big picture of how well the nearly three-week crisis in the Middle East has gone.
“We are doing things to destroy the industries that make it possible to build missiles.” Netanyahu added, “Iran can no longer enrich uranium or make ballistic missiles.”
“We are winning, and Iran is being destroyed.”
Netanyahu stated that the offensive is also causing fractures among the remaining leaders of the Islamic Republic, which Israel is trying to make worse.
“I don’t know who is in charge of Iran right now. He stated, “Mojtaba, the new ayatollah, has not shown his face.” He was talking to Iran’s next supreme leader, the son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the first day of the conflict.
Netanyahu went on to say, “What we see is that there is a lot of tension among the people who are trying to get to the top.”
“We’re finding cracks, and we’re trying to spread them as quickly as we can. There are cracks in the field, not just at the top.
“Wait”
The attack on the Iranian gas field has made world energy markets even more nervous, and Trump said yesterday that he didn’t like it.
“We’re not doing that anymore,” the president remarked in the Oval Office.
Netanyahu made it plain that the message had been received.
“We’re holding off on future attacks because President Trump asked us to.”
Netanyahu also said that Iran’s closing of the Strait of Hormuz, which has caused energy prices to rise, was “blackmail” that “won’t work.”
The Israeli prime minister also said that his fight against Iran would go on, stating, “There’s still more work to do, and we’re going to do it.”
But he also said, “I think this war will end a lot sooner than people think.”
