The Ogun State administration says that Adetoun Onajobi, a social welfare activist known as Just Adetoun, has gone into hiding. They also say that a doctor who reportedly gave her a fraudulent medical report to enable her avoid being arrested by the police has been sent to prison.
The state government also alleged that the Ogun State Police Command has filed six charges against the activist, who they say is now on the run after the state made a complaint against her, according to The PUNCH.
Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, made this announcement today on his official X page.
The letter said that the controversy regarding Just Adetoun got worse after Nigerian-born British boxer Anthony Joshua was in a car accident in Ogun State in December 2025.
The Attorney General said that the activist put out films saying that the state didn’t have an emergency ambulance service and that Governor Dapo Abiodun was ignoring the needs of the people.
The statement said, “She lied when she said there was no ambulance service in Ogun State and accused the Governor of Ogun State of being in Ghana partying and getting women pregnant instead of taking care of the boxer’s needs.”
Ogungbade said the claims were incorrect and harmful, and he also said that Ogun State has a number of emergency response services.
“These claims are false, malicious, and misleading, and they put the public’s safety at risk by giving residents wrong information about healthcare resources.”
The statement claimed, “Ogun State has several ambulance services that are owned and supported by the state.”
After the films, the state asked the police to look into possible violations of the Cybercrimes Act of 2015.
The statement added that the police asked Just Adetoun to come in on January 2, 2026, and report on January 5, but she didn’t show up.
Ogungbade stated, “Even though she bragged that she had proof to back up her claims, she didn’t show up when the police called and went into hiding.”
While avoiding arrest, the activist is said to have uploaded another video saying she was sick.
The statement said, “Even while she was hiding, she made another video saying she was sick and couldn’t go to the police.”
Later, her lawyer gave the police a medical report, but after looking into it, the police found out that the report was phony.
Her lawyer wrote a letter to the police with a medical report from a Lagos-based doctor saying she was sick.
“The investigations showed that the medical report was not true,” the statement claimed.
The Attorney General says that the doctor then admitted that the report was fake, and he was then arrested, charged, and held.
“The doctor admitted that he never met, examined, treated, or revived Adetoun Onajobi, which is not what the medical report says.
The statement went on to say, “He has been arrested, charged, and held for making false medical records and getting in the way of justice.”
Ogungbade added that Just Adetoun is still on the run and also questioned her trustworthiness.
“Adetoun Onajobi is now on the run.
The Attorney General added, “One wonders why someone who said they had proof couldn’t show it to the police or publish it, but instead made fake medical records.”
The statement also said that the activist had done bad things in the past.
Ogungbade said, “She had bullied a woman who was sweeping an estate in Lagos before and had illegally filmed and shared pictures of the woman’s underage child on social media.”
Earlier reports said that the Ogun State Police Command stated that they had invited Onajobi after she complained about her internet attacks on Governor Abiodun.
Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police spokesperson, claimed she was asked to help with the inquiry “based on a petition.”
Onajobi accused the governor of putting parties ahead of the public good in the films that caused the uproar. He also said that the state couldn’t get a working ambulance yet bought SUVs for local government chairmen in December 2025.
