A car with a container atop it caught fire this morning on the Ojota Bridge near the Old Toll Gate, causing chaos.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said the accident happened at about 8:24 a.m., and emergency workers were sent right away.
There is a fire on top of Ojota Bridge, close to the Old Toll Gate, in a containerized vehicle. LASTMA tweeted on its official X account, “The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority and LASTMA have been told, and emergency responders are on the scene.”
Firefighters are putting out the fire right now, and the LASTMA Rescue and Recovery Team is in charge of getting rid of the cars and controlling traffic.
The message went on to say, “A high-capacity tow truck is also on site to help with the removal process.”
Authorities encouraged drivers to be careful and respect the rules of the road set by officials.
“Right now, traffic flow isn’t affected too much. “However, LASTMA said that drivers should put their own safety and the safety of others on the road first.”
Officials said they would give updates as the situation changes.
Remember that a big commercial bus caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge yesterday afternoon, which caused a lot of problems for people who were trying to get to the Iyana Oworo region of Lagos State.
