A family was overjoyed when a 70-year-old man who they thought was dead started breathing again today, just as they were getting ready for his funeral.
Last week, Makhanlal Vaid from Indore, India, had a cerebral hemorrhage and was sent to the hospital, where he had surgery.
He was put on life support since his condition kept becoming worse.
After Vaid was taken off life support, the family thought he had stopped breathing and died, so they took him home.
The man started breathing again after 30 minutes.
The shocking incident came after a social media post had already said he had died and family members were at the family home making funeral plans.
His son called it a miracle and said that Vaid is doing better at home.
His revised social media post said, “We are praying for my father’s quick recovery.”
Vaid’s loved ones, who were 70 years old, were getting ready for his funeral when they heard him breathe again.
Last year, there were reports of another Indian man coming “back from the dead” while he was being prepped for cremation in India.
Rohitash Kumar, 45, displayed feeble signs of life just before he was supposed to be put on the pyre in Jhunjhunu City, Rajasthan, to stop his own cremation.
The video shows the man, who is alive but looks like he’s in a coma, wrapped in a blanket and surrounded by shocked bystanders as he seems to come back to life.
Kumar, who can’t talk or hear, had been in a chilly morgue for three hours before workers observed that he was still breathing.
Officials said that the patient was an orphan who couldn’t speak or hear and was living in a nearby shelter when he got sick and was transferred to the hospital a few days ago.
Doctors said he was dead after his health got worse, but they didn’t do an autopsy, which would have shown that he was still alive.
Jhunjhunu City’s police superintendent said, “The man didn’t have any family with him when he first got to the hospital.”
“His condition got worse, and there were no signs of life.
“The doctors were supposed to do an autopsy, but they didn’t do anything.”
“They merely did the paperwork and sent the man to be cremated.
There, Kumar was said to have been kept in a frigid morgue for several hours before the funeral.
Local news outlets said that Kumar did die while getting medical care after the incident.
The police added that the main medical officer and three doctors who were involved in the case have been put on leave because of the alleged negligence.
