My faith in God, secret of my longevity — Oba Tejuoso
Oba Dr. Adedapo Tejuoso, the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, attributes his 86-year earthly sojourn to his faith in God, which has allowed him to age gracefully.
He made this statement yesterday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, during a programme titled “God’s Festival” and the 7th edition of Praise Unlimited, which honoured Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Sola Allison, and Senwele Jesu, among other gospel artists, in honour of his 86th birthday.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the monarch thanked God for giving him a long and happy life, highlighting the significance of spiritual beliefs in his path.
Sarafa Isola, a former Nigerian ambassador to the UK, spoke at the event and called Oba Tejuoso a transformational ruler, noting that his rule has transformed the Oke-Ona of Egbaland.
“It is by the grace of God that Kabiesi is still standing today. After 80, a lot of people usually have health challenges because all the organs have been working 24 hours a day. This is worthy of celebration.
“What is importance in this life is that people must be celebrated at their old age because you do that. It gives them a sense of fulfillment not until he dies. Kabiyesi is a man of many parts, an accomplished medical doctor, a great father and a transformational ruler of Oke-Ona.”
