Tinubu inherited a bankrupt country – NSA
Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser, has bemoaned the fact that the current government took over a bankrupt nation from the prior administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He claims that the government under Bola Tinubu is using its money to pay back the things that were taken from the nation.
At the Chief of Defence Intelligence Annual Conference 2023 in Abuja on Monday, the National Security Advisor made this declaration.
However, despite the financial constraints that had an impact on budgetary allocations, Ribadu stated that the Federal Government would make every effort to guarantee a strong and functional defence management and apparatus in the nation.
“I assure you, even in the face of severe budgetary constraints, the Federal Government will not rest on its laurels in ensuring a robust and viable defence management and security apparatus to address contemporary challenges,” he declared.
Indeed, we have financial limitations. I’m free to let you know. Okay, so it’s crucial that you understand that we came into this extremely tough circumstance. We inherited a bankrupt nation with no money, and we now have to repay all of the money that was taken. It’s not kidding!
“But I think you leaders will be able to attest to the fact that this administration is making every effort to meet our requirements, especially with regard to the armed forces.”
He added that the current leadership of the armed services has demonstrated a sincere commitment to tackling the ongoing security issues plaguing the nation.
Let’s unite as a nation and keep assisting our armed forces and other security services in their efforts to safeguard our nation for peace and stability.
“They have performed remarkably well without speaking, and I think things will only get better with the backing and determination of the leadership our nation has today.”
