After threat to impeach Governor, Rivers state Assembly building set on fire.
Fire broke out in the Rivers State Assembly chamber yesterday in Port Harcourt.
This news comes as rumours of an impeachment plot against Governor Similanayi Fubara have been circulating, as reported by Daily Trust.
The chamber was reportedly set ablaze yesterday night after the arsonist broke in.
Our newsman also learned that the prompt response of the fire department’s men prevented the fire from engulfing the entire Assembly building.
At the time this article was written, attempts to contact SP Grace Iringe Koko, the public relations officer for the Rivers State Police Command, were unsuccessful.
While firemen worked to control the blaze, security at the site was increased.
