According to reports, two people were killed in Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State, during a clash between local vigilantes and individuals believed to be Fulani herdsmen.

The Delta State Police Command reported only two deaths from the attack on Monday, but locals who came out to protest the killings told Channels TV that eight people were killed.

The incident occurred on the road connecting Ubulu and Uku in Issele.

Wale Abass, the state’s police commissioner, assured the public that the matter is being looked into, but he urged no one to try and enforce the law on their own.

To paraphrase, “I think we had about two casualties so far,” he said.

While this was going on, the police command updated the public on the status of the investigation into the death of a toddler near the state capital of Asaba who was shot by an alleged NDLEA agent during an operation in Okpanam.
