Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels has disclosed that she has been suffering from serious pain and movement problems for months. The actress revealed that her illness made her to rely on wheelchair.
Daniels explained her extended absence on social media in a video she released on her Instagram page yesterday to celebrate her 25th birthday.
The mother of two told Sunday PUNCH that a minor health problem she had steadily worsened, making it difficult for her to move around and at times unable to walk.
“I know many of you will be shocked to see me in a wheelchair. Well here we are again, another chapter in my life. Many of you have asked me questions regarding my absence, let me tell you what my life has been like.
The actress said she lost the freedom to move around at will in the previous few months, and said her illness worsened following the children’s funfair she hosted.
“I have been without freedom of movement for several months now. It began as something small, very small, but then became this.
But things took a dramatic turn after the last public event I hosted, my kids day funfair. I began to call myself elaborate as a joke, test after test. The ache became unbearable. Sometimes I can walk, sometimes I can’t move. ‘I cried,’ she said.
Daniels, however, claimed she was grateful for the progress she had made in her recuperation, saying that she was slowly getting better.
She said her faith in God has been a source of strength as she went through the difficult era hoping for healing and serenity.
The actress also discussed the emotional toll of her health, especially her increasing need on others to help with daily duties.
“I thought it was time for me to tell you about my health,” Daniels said, adding that recent developments in her rehabilitation had inspired her to share her experience with her fans and well-wishers.
“Well, me sitting here today in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I thank you Lord,” she said.
In addition, she said that she had moved closer to her loved ones, especially her children, who she said were important to her heart.
Daniels said she first rented the house but fell in love with it after moving in and wanted to own it.
She married businessman and politician Ned Nwoko in 2019 and the couple are parents of two children. Since then, their marriage has been blighted by a bitter and public split.
