The incident occurred on Saturday at the AFRIMMA festival in Dallas, Texas, where Real Warri Pikin was awarded the ‘Best Stand-Up Comedian’.
Timaya was among the Nigerian artistes that also performed at the occasion.
The viral video showed Real Warri Pikin walking out to join Timaya on stage as he played his hit song, ‘Ukwu’. Later on in the show the singer was spotted hoisting the comedian off the ground.
The video generated some controversy on social media with several Nigerians questioning the appropriateness of the encounter especially considering the fact that Real Warri Pikin is married.
“Abeg make una nor vex” she captioned an Instagram video addressing the controversy, explaining that she was backstage enjoying Timaya’s performance when he called a woman to come on stage.
I acted on impulse, she added, and didn’t know what was going to happen.
Nigerians please be easy on me. I am very sorry. “I take full responsibility of my action,” she declared in Pidgin English.
“If Timaya wants to perform his song ‘Ukwu’, he must bring a woman on stage to carry,” He was on stage, I was backstage vibing and he called a lady to come out. And you know me, I’m always up for a good time. So I ran out of it. This is my work.
“Then he told me to climb on top of him, I was stunned. I said no. If you watch the complete video, you’ll see me pleading him. I was quite loath.” ‘No, you came out,’ he said. ‘Don’t ruin my performance.’ So I went ahead and did it.” “Please don’t be angry with me.
“My husband is mad at me. I am in this marriage till thy kingdom come. Where do you want to put me, my online in-laws.”
The Real Warri Pikin also confessed that her husband was not thrilled with the occurrence.
The comedian has been married to Ikechukwu Asuoha since 2013 and they have three children.
