In Kaduna State, Nigerian Army troops have detained a suspected impostor who claimed to be a former Major General.
In the Plateau, troops apprehend two infamous gunrunners and retrieve N5 million worth of ammo.
Zagazola Makama was informed by military sources that the suspect was captured on Wednesday, June 11, 2026, by soldiers from the 312 Artillery Regiment stationed at the Strike Force Base in the Sabo region.
It was claimed that the suspect was posing as retired Major General A.T. Ibrahim.
The sources claim that the suspect was apprehended at approximately 9:14 a.m. as a result of intelligence.According to the source, the person was detained for reportedly posing as Maj.-Gen. A.T. Ibrahim (rtd) and is presently being investigated in military detention.
The sources stated that once the first military processes were over, the suspect will be turned over to the proper authorities for additional investigation and potential prosecution.
The purpose of the suspected impersonation and if the suspect committed any crimes using the phoney identity have not been revealed by military authorities.
Security officials, however, stated that investigations were still on to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the case and ascertain whether other people were involved.
