Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, has been formally selected by NDC presidential contender Peter Obi as his vice presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
According to Sunday Guardian, the declaration positions both candidates as the party’s presidential and vice presidential ticket for the forthcoming election, confirming a significant political realignment ahead of the polls.
Obi and Kwankwaso, two powerful political blocs with substantial national support bases, are anticipated to head the ADC’s campaign together into the 2027 contest following the confirmation.
Early expectations for the 2027 presidential campaign have been altered by this development, which represents one of the most important opposition alliances ahead of the election cycle.
