British officials are investigating the death of three Nigerian-British sisters. The bodies of the sisters were found in the sea near Brighton Beach on May 13, 2026.
All were from the Uxbridge area of West London – Rebecca Walter, 31, Jane Adetoro, 36, and Christiana Walter, 32.
Emergency responders contacted local authorities when the bodies were recovered from the sea.
Authorities said they haven’t seen any sign of foul play, no evidence of a crime and no indication anyone else was involved.
Coastguards suspect the women may have gone into the ocean and the strong sea conditions made it difficult for them to make their way back to shore.
The unfortunate circumstance has attracted emotions from Nigerian and British communities, with many expressing shock and anguish at the occurrence.
Their father, Joseph, said in an emotional statement that his daughters were the family’s “strength, joy and beautiful light.” He stated he was heartbroken and overwhelmed with sadness at losing all three of his children at once.
