According to Mr. David Greene, Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Nigeria, the embassy has interviewed more than 150,000 Nigerians and around 30,000 students so far this year.

The news agency NAN states that Greene made the comment while speaking in Abuja.

“What people don’t realise is that we have interviewed over 150,000 people this year,” he stated.

Not to mention the 30,000 students already mentioned. The United States has provided an opportunity for hundreds of thousands of students to apply for visas. We are making every effort to address all categories in the best way possible, despite the massive backlog caused by COVID-19 and other factors.

“However, we have achieved significant strides. He also mentioned that in March, a five-year term was imposed for visas to the US.

But he did promise that the delegation would address any issues that visa applicants may have. He claimed that the mission is doing all in its ability to resolve visa-related concerns, and that they will soon be a thing of the past.

Those interested in visiting the United States should apply for a visa as soon as possible and make sure their petitions are related to certain events, he said.

Visa applicants should start planning ahead of time and submit their applications as soon as possible. This is due to the fact that we are aware of the backlog and will exert all effort to ensure that anyone requiring a warrant visa to the United States are able to obtain one,” he stated.
