Happening Now : Fatal auto crash, Driver, 4 others conveying newspapers to Kaduna killed

In the early hours of today, a commercial driver was killed along with four other passengers while driving from Abuja to Kaduna with some national dailies.

Eyewitnesses say the incident took place on the Abuja-Kaduna highway in the Kakau area just outside of Kaduna city.

The Saint Gerard Catholic Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna is where their bodies have been brought, according to reports.

Mr. Charles, the circulation officer for The Sun in Kaduna, claimed that several copies of newspapers from various organisations had been delivered to the distribution centre in the middle of Kaduna city already heavily stained with blood.

He also claimed that copies of the Daily Sun had been compromised. Leadership, Blueprint, and New Telegraph were also affected.

The newspaper delivery was to stop in Kaduna before the driver, known as Chaji, continued on to Kano.

At the time this report was written, the cause of the terrible accident had not been determined.
