According to reports from Spain on Saturday, Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder for Barcelona, will miss up to five weeks with an ankle injury.

The Dutch international left Barca’s 3-2 La Liga win over Celta Vigo in the first half.
Barcelona released a statement saying that De Jong had hurt his right ankle during the game, but they did not say how long they expected him to be out.

De Jong will not be able to play in Barcelona’s Champions League match away to Porto on October 4 and may also miss the club’s La Liga match against Real Madrid on October 28.

While Barcelona’s midfielder Pedri remains sidelined with a thigh injury, central defender Ronald Araujo returned against Celta after missing time with a hamstring issue.
