After being away from work for three months due to a medical vacation, Ondo State’s Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is confident that he will be able to complete his term.

Less than 24 hours after his return from Germany, Akeredolu addressed a meeting of stakeholders in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

It was a long trip back, but I made it yesterday. As a result, I’ve scheduled a meeting with you for today. At the ceremony where he delivered his letter of resumption to Speaker of the House of Assembly Olamide Oladiji, the governor declared, “God has answered our prayers, and we give Him all the glory.”

So, I said, “Since we had to touch down in Ibadan first, I must meet with members of the House of Assembly here. We have returned and are now present. I have returned, and with God’s help, I expect to be healthy enough to serve out my full term in office.

I’m happy to report that I’m safe and sound and ready to get back to work. This is my resume,” he continued.

According to a statement released by his spokesman Richard Olatunde, Akeredolu expressed gratitude to God for his safe return to the country and thanked the people of the state for their support during his absence.

I want to thank everyone who prayed for us and was happy to hear that we made it back safely. God has fulfilled the wishes of the vast majority of our people. For our return, the vast majority of our people here prayed, and now we are back,” Akeredolu said.

Members of the State Executive Council led by Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, members of the National Assembly led by Senator Jide Ipinsagba, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Working Committee led by Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin all attended the meeting with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.

Before leaving for Germany, Akeredolu had delegated power to his second-in-command. We at the TNT news desk rejoice with the governor and people of Ondo state on his recovery.
