KWARA Students Get Fuel Subsidy Parlliatives For Transport
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has authorized the deployment of government buses to facilitate the movement of students and workers in public tertiary institutions within Ilorin and its environs.
The metropolis-spanning bus relief for students is the second phase of the Kwara State Government’s efforts to mitigate the effects of the federal government’s removal of the fuel subsidy.
The government had previously reduced the number of weekdays civil servants worked from five to three, while bureaucrats devised alternative measures for workers exempt from the policy.
According to a Kwara State Government House statement signed by the governor’s spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Sunday: “Starting on Wednesday, June 14, some large buses will be used to transport students of public tertiary institutions within the metropolitan area, including those going to the Kwara State University campus at Malete. The coordinating Ministries, Agencies, and Departments (MDA) will release additional information.
