Missing siblings found dead in Gboko after two days

Two children, Aondona Abba aged seven and six years old Aondoaseer Abba who was declared missing at the weekend in Gboko town, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue state have been found dead by a pool of water.

It was gathered that the kids who were cousins left their homes on Saturday on number 109 Captain Downes street, Gboko East without the knowledge of their parents to watch a football match at a football viewing centre said to be located a few metres away from their homes.

But were probably abducted somewhere around the J.S. Tarka Institute of Political Studies at about 5 pm by unknown persons. According to the source, “a search was conducted for two days to rescue the children “nobody saw them but early Sunday morning, the footwear of one of them was found near a pool of water and the other had his own footwear found nearby Catholic Church.”

He said local swimmers were mobilized to search for the missing boys in the water but they were not found until Monday morning when their lifeless bodies were found dumped near the water at the J.S. Tarka Institute of Political Studies.

Efforts to speak with their parents failed as they are still in shock but the elder brother of their twin parents, Doctor Ben Abba who was also dumbfounded described the incident as shocking saying that the two kids were full of life and vigour adding that the larger family would meet and take action on the matter.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Catherine Anene confirmed the development in a text message saying “the two children who were reported missing were found dead in Gboko today. Investigation in the matter is in progress. I will communicate to you as soon as I get more details.”
