Delta Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, on Monday announced that his administration would reconstruct internal roads in Oyede community in Isoko North Local Government Area.

Okowa made this known at the resumed ward-to-ward campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of Saturday House of Assembly by-election for Isoko North constituency.

He said that the state government would also award contract for the perimeter fencing of Oyede Boys’ Primary School.

“By the special grace of God, we will add to existing infrastructure in this Ward.

“Everybody should work together in Isoko North to ensure overwhelming victory for our party, the PDP, in the forthcoming Isoko North constituency by-election.

“I don’t want to see faction in Isoko North. Everybody should continue to work together,” Okowa said and lauded leaders of the party in the local government for their sustained commitment to the party.

He assured that his administration would continue to execute people-oriented projects across the state within the limit of available resources, adding that the 26-km Ellu-Ovrode-Ofagbe-Orie-Okpe-Isoko-Uro-Ada road would be completed by the administration.

The governor expressed delight with the mammoth crowd that received the PDP campaign train in each of the wards visited, and charged members of the party in the area to continue to work as a team and ensure that the party emerged victorious in the by-election.

He urged them to shun factional politics in all its ramifications, and reiterated his charge to leaders of the party to work assiduously in the interest of members.

The governor also led the campaign train to Ofagbe Ward 4, Okpe Isoko Ward 8 ,and Ellu Ward 3, where some All Progressives Congress (APC) members defected to the PDP and were received by state Chairman of the party, Chief Kingsley Esiso.

Receiving the decampees, Esiso assured them a level playing ground in the party, adding that they would get what is due to them in the PDP, just as he urged them to remain faithful and loyal to the party by working with the leadership of the party.

Leaders of PDP in all the Wards visited, assured that they would deliver overwhelming victory for the party in the election.

In his speech, the PDP candidate, Mr. Jude Ogbimi, urged the people to stand by the party by voting for him massively, assuring that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
