The All Progressives Congress, Osun State branch, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola and former governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji have pledged their willingness to work with Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The party said it had organised nearly 10,000 door-to-door canvassers to carry the Tinubu administration’s successes to the grassroots across the 30 local government areas of the state.
Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, confirmed this in a statement on Friday, adding the party structure was ready to cooperate with Governor Adeleke, who is the coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election in the state.
“We have mobilised about 10,000 members of our party for a door-to-door campaign to take the good deeds of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the grassroots across the 30 local government areas of Osun State,” Lawal stated. “President’s reforms are trimming the economy and establishing the foundation for strong generational wealth”.
Lawal said the party leadership, backed by Oyetola and the state executive had finalised arrangements to unveil the canvassers in Osogbo. He also said that the party welcomed Governor Adeleke’s commitment to work for the re-election of Tinubu and asked him to include all relevant stakeholders, including APC leaders and members in the campaign framework.
The APC chairman also said that the party will mobilise voters for all its candidates in the National Assembly and Osun State House of Assembly elections and would set up a campaign committee for both elections.
The development comes after weeks of turmoil over the campaign council. Oyetola and Oyebamiji were not present at Adeleke’s inauguration of the 344-member Osun Presidential Campaign Council on October 22, with the state APC claiming it was not properly informed of the occasion. Adeleke had, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, repeatedly invited Oyetola’s camp, stating, “Let us come together within the council to mobilise for Mr President. All these things of ‘I was invited, I was not invited’, individuals should evolve beyond that.
The current resolution of the APC shows a move toward cooperation, as the party now mobilises its institutions at all levels to spearhead campaign operations for Tinubu’s re-election.
