An amateur boxer known simply as Kehinde and popularly called KBlaq has been killed during a street brawl at Olodo Garage, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The PUNCH adds that the tragedy which happened on Sunday has caused fury on social media with users demanding justice for the deceased.
Online accounts say the dead wasn’t part of the altercation at first and the suspect allegedly showed up after the battle was over and stabbed him in the neck with a shattered bottle.
Acquaintances said Kehinde was a boxer, who died from his injuries, it was stated.
Several social media users were shocked by the killing, with some saying the suspect was not involved in the initial fight.
“The person who stabbed him wasn’t even involved in the fight and they had already stopped fighting,” wrote an X user @MVKAY2 Just one of those filthy men that had nothing to do with the incident came out of nowhere and stabbed him.”
“I wish he was with Z the second before una start dropping different narratives. I wish he was never there.”
Another user @omononaolapo said “Funny enough this guy that stabbed him wasn’t one of those they were fighting.
In the same vein, @Tunde who referred to the deceased as his brother wrote: “Na my brother o. Ajeh. Sometimes olodo bike men may be quite cruel and they were all there watching them fight.
“This is why I made this tweet earlier today,” another user @Fela commented. This boxer is a friend of my little brother. I arrived to church yesterday and my brother informed me someone killed his friend . I was astonished when he informed me.
Another user, @Pelumifundz who referred to Kehinde as a friend’s younger brother, said, “This guy is a twin and my friend’s junior brother. He is really sweet and no trouble. I’d love to know what transpired to make the bikeman stab him in the neck. RIP Kenny anyhow. I know you won’t leave without justice. “We will get it for you for sure.”
The spokesman for the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the event yesterday in a telephone call with our correspondent, saying investigation was ongoing.
