The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a three-hour power outage in Ijebu-Ode and surrounding areas of Ogun State on Friday, September 18, 2026, to enable it carry out scheduled maintenance on the Sagamu/Ijebu-Ode 132kV transmission line.

TCN said its maintenance crew would conduct the annual preventive maintenance on the transmission line between 10am and 1pm.

The company explained that during the exercise, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) would be unable to receive electricity from the transmission network for onward distribution to customers in Ijebu-Ode and its environs.

The planned outage, according to TCN, is necessary to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the transmission infrastructure.

The company apologized to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the maintenance exercise may cause.
