The Ministry of Interior has dismissed a bogus press statement circulating on the internet alleging that the ongoing CDCFIB recruitment exercise has been postponed to after the 2027 general election.
The Ministry said that the document titled “CDCFIB Recruitment Update” dated 11th August 2026, which is falsely attributed to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is not from the Ministry, the Minister’s office or the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, CDCFIB.
The Ministry in the response signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, said unambiguously that:
The press release is false, unapproved and fraudulent. The statement was not signed or issued by the Minister.
There is no decision to hold off on the recruitment exercise until after the 2027 general election.
The workout still goes on.
It advised the public and applicants to discard the paper completely.
The Ministry further warned that people should rely only on information disseminated thru the Ministry’s and CDCFIB’s verified channels including the official recruiting portal: cdcfib.gov.ng.
