As the demand for technology professionals grows in Nigeria’s booming digital economy, Aptech Computer Education has announced the 18th edition of its flagship Career Quest programme, offering up to 50 per cent scholarships to prospective students, and a seamless path to earning United Kingdom degrees through its partnership with Middlesex University London. The project, which is touted as the biggest career seminar in the country, is planned to place between August 7 and 15 in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, Calabar, Abeokuta and Ota, with online sessions being scheduled to enable students across the country to participate, writes Saturday Guardian.
This comes at a time when companies in the financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and technology sectors are ramping up investments in digital transformation, creating demand for professionals skilled in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, software engineering and animation.
Under the partnership, students completing Aptech’s Advanced Diploma programmes will be eligible for direct entry to the final year of selected bachelor’s degree programmes at Middlesex University London including Information Technology and Business Information Systems, Business Computing and Data Analytics, Animation, and 3D Animation for Games and Films.
The arrangement allows students to cut short the time and expense of gaining internationally acknowledged degrees with industry relevant skills for worldwide employment prospects, Aptech said.
Participants at the Career Quest seminars will also have the chance to enter a scholarship draw with the chance to win up to 50 per cent tuition funding towards qualified UK degree programmes, as well as savings on chosen professional and short technology courses.

Organisers said that over the last 20 years, over 1,200 Nigerian students have been able to study abroad through Aptech’s international route programmes, while scholarships worth at over ₦621 million were offered in the last edition of Career Quest.
Aptech and Middlesex University experts will provide career advise to students attending this year’s programme, with workshops focused on new technology disciplines, international study opportunities, networking and professional development.
