The report further said that some teenagers in Warri attacked and critically injured a protocol officer serving under the Delta State Governor, Mr. Temo Mudi.
The event was held yesterday at the Delta State APC Leadership Meeting at the PTI Conference Centre.
One of the witnesses said that the incident may have been incited by a comment made by Mr. Mudi about the current administration.
He was overheard at the meeting to have said that the President Tinubu administration was the best thing to have happened to Nigerians, a statement that appeared to irritate those there.
Soon after his remark the youths descended on him and he was badly battered. “It was chaotic and the attack disrupted the proceedings,” said sources at the conference facility.
Security officers and others at the event tried to interfere, but the assailants already had injured the protocol officer before order could be restored, the security officials and others at the event said. He was then taken to hospital with injuries from the assault.
