The presidential candidate of the NDC, Mr. Peter Obi has accused the current administration of purposefully targeting him, saying that the acts of the government are making it difficult for him to carry out his everyday activities and political engagements.
Obi, who spoke in an interview with Chude, said he sometimes believes that he may not even be alive to fight the 2027 presidential race if the current situation continues.
“The way this government is going, I may not even be alive to contest the 2027 elections. This administration is purposely making it impossible for me to accomplish anything that earns me a living. I get frustrated every day.
He added the intimidation goes to public places and told the story of an instance at the airport where he said officials secured his car while other automobiles were permitted to park in the same area.
“They locked my car up at the airport recently. I looked around and saw that other automobiles were parked there, but mine was the one that had been picked. This is the sort of treatment that I’m getting all the time.”
Obi said the claimed acts against him are part of a larger pattern of intimidation against members of the opposition. He said he remains determined to fighting for a more united and compassionate Nigeria despite the hurdles.
We divided the country, creating h@tred between us. That is why I keep repeating I want to restore unity where there is discord. I wish to show love, compassion, concern.
