Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, yesterday imposed a 16-hour curfew on 10 local government areas in the state.
The curfew which takes effect from today was contained in a memo sent by Secretary to the State Government Prof. Musibau Babatunde, yesterday night.
The hint was dropped by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju in a statement made in Ibadan, the state capital.
The curfew which is from 4pm to 8am will continue for 48 hours in the first instance and covers local government units adjoining the Old Oyo National Park.
The local governments affected are Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo and Atiba.
