Other identified places include Ikeja, Ikorodu, Ikoyi, Lagos Island, Lekki, Ojo, Orile-Agege, Surulere, Agege, Alimosho and Kosofe.
The flood forecast update signed by the Director of Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management, Usman Bokani tagged the mentioned locations as “Critical Risk Areas”.
The bulletin recommended populations in affected areas to remain on immediate flood alert, find evacuation routes and safeguard vulnerable homes.
It also warned inhabitants to “stay away from settlements and trading within active floodplains, low-lying drainage corridors and riverbank areas.”

The administration said the preventive measures have managed to avoid any disastrous damage associated with heavy rains since the beginning of the rainy season this year.
“These proactive measures have ensured that the state has not been adversely affected by the heavy rainfalls since the rains started this year,” the statement further said.
