The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has once again shown that it stands for honesty, openness, and professionalism by giving the family of the victim of a deadly crash the sum of One Million, One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (₦1,120,000.00) that was found at the scene.
It was a sad accident on April 11, 2026, at Idu Village along the Gegu–Abaji highway. A Toyota Corolla (Reg. No. GWP418CV) and a Volkswagen Golf (Reg. No. RBC220DG) were involved.
Mallam Aliyu Mohammed Bala, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf, was badly hurt and eventually died at the hospital, despite attempts to save his life.
The FRSC Zebra Team rescued people and Deputy Corps Commander Osondu Ohaeri, who is also the Corps Public Education Officer at FRSC Headquarters, said that ₦1,120,000 and other personal valuables were carefully taken from the scene and recorded according to standard operating procedures.
On April 20, 2026, the Corps officially gave the found money to the family of the deceased in a sorrowful but dignified ceremony at the Command.
Mr. Bala Yakubu, the victim’s older brother, received the money on behalf of the family in front of reliable witnesses including N. Yusuf and Aminu Mahmud Maku.
The Ag. Unit Commander, Chief Route Commander RC Ojonugwa E. Ejah, and other important staff members of the Command were in charge of the handover.
As expected, the Corps Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, called the gesture another strong sign of the Corps’ commitment to being honest and responsible. He also sent his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the peaceful rest of his soul.
