Peter Okoye, a Nigerian artist better known as Mr. P, has officially changed the date of his birthday party. The singer, who was born on November 18, 1981, said he will no longer celebrate his birthday on the same day as his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
He told his family, friends, and fans about it through a statement on social media.
According to Guardian Life, Peter has made it obvious that he is relocating his party to the end of the month.
He tweeted, “Dear Family, Friends, and Fans, I’m making it official.” November 18th is no longer the day I celebrate my birthday. Please don’t send me any messages or presents on that day. Now, my birthday will be on November 30th. I really appreciate your understanding that this is a personal choice. “Thank you all.”
The brothers, who became famous as the iconic duo P-Square, have been publicly disagreeing for a long time. This decision is the most recent development in that disagreement. P-Square was once the most popular music group in Africa. Their songs “Personally,” “Chop My Money,” and “Do Me” were big hits around the world.
In 2017, the first big problem in their relationship happened, and they broke up for five years. Fans were overjoyed when they got back together in November 2021, but the peace didn’t last long. The group broke up for the second time in 2024 because of more arguments with their older brother and previous manager, Jude Okoye, as well as claims concerning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Since they broke up again, both brothers have been working on their own jobs.
Peter Okoye, often known as Mr. P, accepted his role as a solo artist and businessman. He has put out excellent projects like the record The Prodigal, and he keeps talking about how much creative freedom and “joy” he gets from working alone.
Paul Okoye, commonly known as Rudeboy, is the other twin. He has also stayed popular in the industry with songs like “Reason with Me.” He has said in recent interviews that P-Square is “no more” and that he is just focusing on his brand, Rudeboy.
Some fans respect Peter’s right to personal tranquility, while others are sorry about the growing rift between the two famous brothers.
Paul Okoye has not said anything about his brother’s statement in public.
