President Bola Tinubu says he is not afraid of the opposition. He calls them “noise-makers” who don’t follow the law.
He said this yesterday at the State House in Abuja during a meeting with leaders and coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors from all 36 states of the federation, according to Channels TV.
Hope Uzodimma, the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Imo State, was in charge of the group.
“Do they want to scare me away? It’s not true. “I’ve been down this road before,” the President stated.
“You need a promise from me: I won’t run away from the problems of the country.” The transaction is done with you.
The president noted that the 2023 election was hard but eventually successful.
“It was hard during the primary that led me here. He said, “It was hard during the general election that brought me here.”
Tinubu told the crowd that his political career, which included the primaries and general election that got him elected, had already prepared him for the problems he was facing now. He said he would not be sidetracked.
“I have heard a lot of different things. You all inspire me. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get out of poverty and ignorance. To provide our people freedom and make sure democracy stays strong. Not the loudness, not the troublemaking of street conventions.
“We can’t let people disobey a legal order from the court.” We have to accept the courts, even if they don’t agree with us. We agree with the idea of democracy, the division of powers, and how they work together, as well as the idea of Nigeria as a nation.
“We need to build one country with one vision for the progress and prosperity of our people.” He remarked, “That’s what Renewed Hope is all about.”
He told members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay together and fight against those who he stated don’t want the country to change.
The president also criticized Atiku Abubakar, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Vice President. He did this by talking about Atiku’s time as Chairman of the National Council on Privatisation.
Tinubu asked about the results of several privatization efforts that were made while Atiku was in charge.
“Look at one of them… no one in this calabash has a history.” At one point, the head was the Chairman of Nigeria’s Privatisation Council. He sold the steel business in Delta to private companies. Is it still working? No.
“They made Ajaokuta private. Is it still working? Put it on the list. They took over another person’s political party. “That one said no,” he added, and the crowd burst out laughing.
Tinubu said again that he was committed to running the country and helping it grow.
He responded, “Let’s talk about the specifics of what we promised Nigerians, and I promise I won’t let you down.”
He also claimed that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had been organized and given the tools they needed to help the APC before the general elections in 2027.
