General Christopher Musa (Rtd), the Minister of Defence, has called all the Service Chiefs to his office for an important discussion about recent attacks on military bases in the North East.
Daily Trust said that the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, are both at the meeting right now at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
There are also the Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, an Air Marshal; the Chief of Naval Staff, Idi Abass, a Vice Admiral; and representatives from the National Intelligence Agency, among others.
Remember that terrorists killed at least three Commanding Officers who were Lieutenant-Colonels in Borno not so long ago.
Besides the Commanding Officers who were assassinated, many soldiers also died, and hundreds of civilians who were kidnapped are currently being held captive.
Before the meeting went behind closed doors, the Defense Minister said that they had decided to look over the plans for how to fight the terrorists more effectively, even if the military had already lost some soldiers.
“We know we have recorded some deaths, but most of them are on the side of the terrorists,” the retired four-star general said during the short meeting.
