Justine Madugu, the head coach of the Super Falcons, has explained why he left Asisat Oshoala off Nigeria’s team for the forthcoming double-header friendlies against Cameroon.
When Madugu revealed his 25-player list last week, people were surprised that the 31-year-old forward, who has been playing well for Saudi club Al-Hilal, was not on it.
Madugu said that the decision wasn’t because Oshoala wasn’t important to the squad; it was just a chance to try out other players, according to Complete Sports.
“It’s a friendly match, and it’s important that we let other people show what they can do.” We all know what Asisat can do for the team, but these games let us try out new things. He remarked, “She is still very much a part of our plans.”
