Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called the current All Progressives Congress (APC) “the worst administration” in his political life and said it has hurt the country’s national existence.
Atiku spoke at the presentation of The Loyalist, a book by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He said he was glad that lawmakers from different parties could work together to build the ADC.
According to Daily Trust, the ADC leader thanked everyone who helped with the launch and supported Abdullahi, saying they had made the national conversation richer.
He told readers to see the book as more than just a story; it should also be a guide to individual and group responsibility. He said, “Let it guide us in the discharge of our public responsibilities, and may it inspire ongoing dialogue, scholarship, and action that advance justice, fairness, dignity, and opportunity for every citizen of this country.”
Atiku remarked that the ADC is a unique political party because it brings together people from all over the country with different political views who want to reunite Nigeria and start the country’s democratic journey again.
“If there is anything good about our recent political situation, it’s that we are all joining together to save the country from what I think is the worst government I’ve seen in almost 40 years of being involved in politics. Even the military dictatorships that ruled before 1999 didn’t hurt our national life and awareness as much as this government has.
“Many of us here helped start the APC.” Sadly, what we thought would save the country has not happened. “We must come together again, just like we did before, to make sure that a new political organization can save this country for the good of its people,” he stated.
