The presidency has said that President Bola Tinubu is in good health and will go ahead with his planned official visit to Turkey.
Mr. Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, used his verified X handle to announce the update today.
According to Dare, after the formal reception, the president moved on to his bilateral discussions with Erdogan and other high-ranking officials.
Following a solemn welcome ceremony in Ankara, President Tinubu reportedly went on to his scheduled bilateral meetings with President Erdoğan of Turkey and other high-ranking government officials.
The summits’ stated goals include strengthening diplomatic ties and increasing collaboration across key industries.
Security and defense, commerce and investment, energy, and general economic growth are all areas of involvement.
The trip went off without a hitch, which is a testament to the improving relationship between the two countries and President Tinubu’s decision to reengage with foreign powers.
In the meantime, questions on the president’s health were fielded today in Ankara by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the presidential spokesperson.
According to Onanuga, the president only lost his footing slightly after stepping on an object.
In his statement, Onanuga stated that the President lost his balance after stepping on a metal object on the floor.
“Unless you’re interested in making trouble out of something that happened very briefly, this is not a major issue.”
“It was a little misstep, thankfully, not a tumble,” he continued.
The president is fit and fully engaged, the administration said, so the public should not make a big deal out of a small event.
