People in Tudun Yola, which is in the Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, were scared when two ladies were killed and their house was set on fire by people they didn’t know.
Weekend Trust said that the victims, Hauwa’u Yakubu and Zahra’u Aliyu, were both married to Alhaji Ashiru Shu’aibu Usaini.
Local officials and family members said that the perpetrators stabbed one of the women before setting the house on fire. Later, they found the second wife dead in the bathroom.
Anas Shu’aibu, the stepson, informed reporters that the event happened around noon when the husband and his kids were at work.
Until my dad contacted me at night and told me to come home, I had no idea what had happened. One of the dead was burned, and the other was locked in the bathroom. He said, “She was already dead when we forced the door open.”
Shu’aibu said that at first, the family thought it was an accidental fire, but later they realized that the killings were the result of a planned attack.
Alhaji Ashiru, the husband, was sad and asked the police to find and arrest the people who did it.
“They slaughtered my wives and then burned one of the bodies. He said, “I still don’t know why this evil deed was done.”
CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, a police officer in Kano State, verified the event and claimed that an inquiry was underway.
