The Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists has teamed with Zamkah Technologies to empower small business owners with skills and linkages to help grow their businesses into internationally competitive brands.
The idea will be showcased at NASSI’s 35th National Convention slated for December 1, 2026 in Abuja where businesses will seek for commercial partnerships and methods to go beyond the domestic economy.
NASSI National President, Chief Solomon Daniel Vongfa, said the convention was intended to assist small business owners in brainstorming and forging strategic alliances to accelerate Nigeria’s economy.
“The convention is a deliberate platform to engage with small business owners and cross-fertilise ideas and identify areas of collaboration that can strengthen the economy and reduce overdependence on government,” Vongfa added.
The country’s economic strength largely relies on its ability to increase domestic production and enhance product quality, he said, adding that the engagement will offer chances for training programs, workshops and business seminars.
He said, “The convention would look at possible ways of business models that suit businesses and make them competitive as an organization that has the key function of advocating government policies that make it easier to run a small business in Nigeria.
Access to cash, increased product quality and entrepreneurial skills are important needs for creating enterprises that can compete outside Nigeria’s boundaries, Vongfa identified.
“The association will continue to hold trade fairs and exhibitions to showcase locally manufactured products and connect producers to potential buyers,” the NASSI president said, adding that the initiatives were in line with the government’s emphasis on local production.
“We are determined to make Nigeria the giant of Africa not on paper but in reality. “If we are to truly deserve it, we have to double our efforts in domestic production, quality of products and ensure that entrepreneurs have access to financing and are mentally prepared,” Vongfa said.
NASSI is a non-profit organization established in 1978 to assist micro, small and medium-scale firms in Nigeria through partnership with the Bank of Industry to increase financial access for its members.
