–By Lagos Reporters….
Tension is brewing in Lagos as Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, the Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has sparked outrage after openly declaring war on anyone planning to vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power in the 2027 elections.
In a video obtained by Lagos Reporters, Sego was seen vowing to “severely punish” any resident who dares to vote against the APC, insisting that he has the full backing of the government. He further boasted that what happened in the 2023 presidential election, when APC lost Lagos, would never be allowed to repeat itself.
The video has drawn widespread condemnation, with Lagos residents accusing Sego of attempting to intimidate over 20 million citizens. Many are now calling for his immediate arrest, stressing that democracy cannot be reduced to threats and intimidation by union leaders hiding under political protection.
Lagos Reporters earlier reported that Sego’s close ally, known as Shamelone, allegedly brutalized a dispatch rider in broad daylight, barely a day after being accused of beating one Adeshina Rahman to death a case currently adjourned to later in October.
With Sego’s threats now caught on camera, pressure is mounting on security agencies to act swiftly.
Lagos Reporters will continue to monitor developments on this story, including possible government and security agency responses, and bring readers timely updates as events unfold.
