Lagos International Airport receives 161 Nigerians who had been stuck in Libya.
A further 161 Nigerians who had become trapped in Tripoli, Libya, have been safely returned home.
They entered the country via the cargo terminal at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport, according to the Nigerian Tribune.
Al Buraq Air flight BRQ189/07.TSINK.MJI, with the Nigerians’ registration number 5A-DMG, landed at the airport’s Cargo Wing at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
There were 100 adult females, 37 adult men, 9 female children, 7 male children, and 4 girls and males respectively among the new returnees.
Around 17:22 local time, the plane took off from Tripoli, Libya.
Officials from NAPTIP, the Refugee Commission, and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were waiting for them upon their arrival at the Lagos airport.
