Over 115,000 people have been hurt by the earthquakes in Turkey’s southeast, which have killed over 48,000 people.

 

Sunday, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, said this.

 

Erdogan told the country in a televised speech from the Samandag district of Hatay province that the number of people who have died has reached 48,000 and the number of people who have been hurt has gone over 115,000.

On February 6, two quakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 happened in the southeast of Turkey nine hours apart.

 

After that, there were thousands of aftershocks that were felt in 11 provinces of Turkey and in neighboring countries, with Syria being the worst hit.
