Suspected bandit abandons AK-47 rifles in Kwara, flees

The police in Kwara State have recovered two AK-47 rifles from a suspected kidnapper in Bode-Saadu, Moro Local Government Area.

 

Also seized were seven empty magazines, 50 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition, three Tecno handsets, 11 phone batteries, charms, clothes and sum of N255,000.

 

Spokesperson of the command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the suspect fled on a bike.

 

He said: “A detachment of policemen detailed to monitor the axis sighted and flagged down a Bajaj motorcycle operator for a routine check.

 

“Surprisingly, the rider of the motorcycle jumped down from the motorcycle and ran into the bush.

 

“The fleeing suspect is strongly believed to be one of the kidnappers operating around the border towns of Ekiti, Kogi, and Kwara states.

 

“The command has promised to exert the necessary pressure to see that the fleeing suspects and his gang members are arrested.”

 

Okasanmi urged the public to always give police information and report all strange activities around them.
