A female student, Ikanna Okim, has broken a 36 years old record as she becomes the very first student to obtain a First Class in Law from the University of Uyo (Uniuyo).

It is on record that, since the establishment of the Law Faculty at Uniuyo, a federal University, 36 years ago, not even one student has met the mark of getting a First Class.

In her detailed result posted on the website of the university on Wednesday, Okim obtained a
CGPA of 4.61 while her GPA for the 2020/2021 academic session stands at 5, thus making her the best all round law graduate of the university for the session.

Ikanna Okim, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, is a daughter of Lagos based veteran journalist and Executive Editor of News Express online newspaper, Mr Sunny Okim.

Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong has reportedly offered to pick the graduating student’s Law School fee of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300, 000).

This paper is also reliably informed that plans are on the way for Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel to host and celebrate Miss Okim for this historic feat, which according to our source, has made the state proud.
