Four passengers injured in Anambra auto crash

Four passengers on Monday sustained varying degrees of injury following an auto crash that involved a white Hummer bus with Reg No. XZ320PHD and a white Toyota Hiace bus with Reg No MKD 974XB.

Eight others escaped unhurt in the accident that happened near Agulu Lake in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to an eye witness account, the crash was as a result of brake failure, which led to loss of control.

He said: “The Enugu South Transport Company vehicle failed brake and lost control; as the driver was trying to maneuver, he crashed into the oncoming vehicle.”

Confirming the accident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adeoye Irelewuyi, said no death was recorded.

He said the four injured persons are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

While urging drivers to exercise patience while driving on highways to avoid unnecessary traffic crashes, he wished the injured quick recovery.
