Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke has joined Italian Serie A Women side Napoli on a permanent deal with the Partenopei signing the defender to a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old centre-back signs from América Femenil in Mexico, where she spent two seasons and helped the club win the CONCACAF Champions Cup in the 2025/26 season.
“I am very happy to be here in Italy and to meet my new teammates and the coaching staff,” Okeke said.
“I’ve had a good time in my first few days here. “I met the coach, the staff and my teammates and it’s been fantastic,” Okeke told Napoli’s official website.
She also shared her ambition for the forthcoming campaign. My objective for this season? “To give my all with the team,” she said.
Okeke, who can also play at full-back, started her professional career at Madrid CFF in Spain in 2019.
Later she played for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Israel and Mynavi Sendai Ladies in Japan before going to Mexico in 2024.
Her move to Napoli signifies a return to European football after her time in Liga MX Femenil.
Napoli announced the deal as they bolster their defensive options ahead of the 2017 Serie A Women season, with the club set to kick off their campaign against Juventus on September 26.
At the international level, Okeke has represented Nigeria at a number of tournaments including the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
